1. NASA SPACE SCIENCE DAY :
I wanted to mention you is that the Main Event is almost here and there are still many opportunities to help. A final thing that I wanted to mention you is that I would like to extend an invitation for you to attend to the NASA Community Night that will be held on Friday September 28 on the Klaus Building. Join us to have a great time and learn more about NASA and all the research that this great organization is doing.

1st Hispanic Female Astronaut: Dr. Ellen Ochoa
Where? CULC auditorium
When? THIS Thursday, 11am
Dr. Ochoa became the first Hispanic woman to go to space when she served on a nine-day mission aboard the shuttle Discovery in 1993. Ochoa is an astronaut, engineer, research scientist, and an inventor. She is presently serving as the deputy director for NASA's Johnson Space Center in Houston. An astronaut since 1991, she has flown four times and logged nearly 1,000 hours in space. She also is a co-inventor on three patents for optical systems and has presented numerous papers at technical conferences and in scientific journals.
This event is a featured event for Hispanic Heritage Month, so please attend!

I want to let you know that JSC is currently looking for students interested in participating in our Pathways Intern Employment Program (formerly called the Cooperative Education Program, or Co-op). This program allows both engineering and business students to gain valuable work experience on an alternating school/work basis and serves as a pipeline for our future full-time employees. We also offer conventional internships for one semester or year at a time.
We are currently recruiting students interested in starting with us in spring 2013. The deadline to apply is October 5th, 2012, and the application deadline for a conventional spring internship is October 10th, 2012.
